The main idea of “Re-cycle” is Time. How going forward and backwards in time can change our perceive of the phenomenon around us. As we are generally convinced that time presents linear features. In these 5 minutes-length movies, I am going to question this feature of time and give a chance to more minds think over it and see this “obvious” fact from another point of view. The moments in which we are at, and the seconds that we call “now”, are untouchable past as we call them and there would be no access to them as they pass. However, there are many actions, which, when recorded and played in rewinding mode, one can’t recognize whether the scene is forwarding or rewinding regarding the linear direction of the time. In this movie, I use different objects, because of their different potentials in showing off their direction of actions, being forwarding or backwarding. Some objects’ movements have no direction, like when a rocking chair is moving to forwards and backwards. Some show different aspects based on the speed and angle of the movement. As an example, if we have a sudden action of the movement of a curtain by the wind, when we show it in rewind mode, one can easily recognize that this action is forwarding in actual, but when we show a slight movement of the same curtain slightly moved by a breeze, and then show it in rewind mode, one can easily be convinced that the movement is backwards in time, rather than forward.
